A great Saturday afternoon begins with a crisp -8 temp outside and time to enjoy a few day beers with friends. Nothing beats gathering around a heater in your garage sipping on some tasty brews and opening up your friends to new bevs from our Northern Nation. Luring people away from their the usual Coors Light or Molson Canadian is a newly acquired talent.
This weekends choice of flavor, Granville Island Brewing's English Bay Pale Ale. Slight dark hints of color, similar to a Amber brew with a lot of flavor. High malt caramel notes with a bold pale ale taste. A low carbonation allows for a very smooth taste.
Not being very familiar with Granville's brew, I was very pleased with the overall taste. They also have a Winter Brew that I am sure is quite good. Hope all is well in the beer world, stay tuned for more great reviews.

Muskoka Brewery Winter Beard- Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout
This Saturday evening during a social gathering at my house, I had the pleasure of enjoying Muskoka Brewery's Winter Beard Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout. This flavor full bold stout had a dark chocolate base with hints of cranberry. It's aroma was smooth with a heavy roasted coffee like smell. The cranberries are locally grown and 70% dark chocolate is used.
The 8% alcohol content is on the stronger side, however it's the perfect match for the cold Ontario winter. We enjoyed this brew with a homemade Cream Cheese Chocolate Marble cake with Butterscotch drizell and a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream, also I hear pairs very well with oysters. This full flavoured stout will pair very well with most foods.
Get to your local LCBO or Beer Store and pick one up !!!

First Thirsty Thursday Review !!!
Ahh Thursday, the day before Friday. The day where we look forward to through the week. As my first official blog I will be having a Beer Review. This weeks review will be based on Amsterdam Brewery Big Wheel Deluxe Amber.
Definitely one of my fav beers currently. It has a nice bold sweet toasted caramel taste, but not as heavy as some of the other Amber choices out there, really shows it's UK hoppy roots. Pared very well with a nice roasted chicken or even if your in the mood for a heavier meal go grab a steak.
I often find myself wanting chocolate after having this beer, or even a chocolate covered sponge candy !!
